In these days they are building a lot of new constructions and they are demolishing all the little ones that before give a character to the neighborhood!
I tried to recreate the beautiful Charles river around Quinobequin road in the summer...but is not that easy!
My watercolor "Charlemont" will be in the juried show "Celebrating New England" that is taking place at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. There will be a reception on October 1st and the show will be on from September 9th until November 2nd.
I did that watercolor from a photo I took when I went skiing at the Berkshire East! A new bike path gave me the inspiration to make this watercolor. As usual I changed few things but the factory chimneys are there. My son though doesn't think that the industrial look goes well with the rest of the composition but actually that is the reason why I have done the watercolor! Let me know what you think!
I am participating to this fundraising show organized by the Brookline Arts Center. It was created to help to get funds they need to promote the art in the community and make it available for all, from kids to seniors!
You can click here to see all the artists that are taking part in the show. Attached there is my watercolor in the show! I found this picture that I have taken in a pretty snowy year...I think it was 1996!!!
It gave me the inspiration to make this watercolor...I made up the skyline but the feeling is pretty much the right one! I remake it because I have to confess that I messed it up the other one...add this, add that...and the watercolor was gone!
This one I didn't overdo it - in fact there are some parts that I was tempted to touch it up but I didn't want to repeat what I have done to the previous one! I have done this watercolor several times and in this one I tried to give more space to the bridge and less to the village. Let me what you think!
This watercolor is based on a picture that was taken by an artist and a good friend of mine. The watercolor probably doesn't exactly recreate the atmosfere of the beautiful picture, but I like it a lot and I wanted to give a shot!
